Black
Mountain
Located in the Longfellow Mountains of Western
Maine, Black Mountain has operated for over
four decades, offering affordable downhill
skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding
to folks in the area. It has also been the
site of a number of world and national cross
country skiing championships over the years.
Black Mountain was recently purchased by the
non-profit Maine Winter Sports Center, which
is helping Black Mountain expand and reach
out to the communities of the River Valley.
The plans for the mountain include new trails,
snowmaking, lights and a new novice/intermediate
section and a lift. Also included is a lift
to the top of the ridge, planned for the 2004-2005
winter season. This new section will increase
the vertical from 470' to over 1,100'. |

Loon
Lodge
Fishing at Loon Lodge is a unique experience.
We are located at the headwaters of three
famous watersheds, the Allagash, St. John,
and Penobscot Rivers all begin right here.
Countless miles of streams, rivers, ponds
and lakes make it impossible to fish it all.
But your welcome to try.

Sunday
River Season Passes Going to the Dogs
With All Proceeds Supporting Local Community
Projects
NEWRY, MAINE (Dec. 7, 2007) – Now every
member of the family can enjoy a Sunday River
season pass. New passes designed specifically
for Fido are on sale at the season pass office
at the South Ridge Base Lodge. The $20 passes
are not valid for access to the ski slopes,
but will provide all the benefits of dog identification
including name and phone number along with
a photo.
Sunday River is not responsible if Fido eats
his or her season pass ID tag.
All proceeds will benefit the effort to upgrade
Bethel’s Davis Park Playground. A new
benefiting charity will be selected every
six months. The doggie season pass ID tags
will be available for purchase throughout
the year.
“We’re thrilled at the idea,”
said Joyce Pereira of the non-profit Davis
Park Rehabilitation Committee. “Hopefully
people will like the idea of getting their
pooch a pass for a good cause. Maybe we’ll
see them up and down Main Street here in Bethel
all the way into Boston.”
Sunday River is located minutes from picturesque
Bethel Village in western Maine’s Mahoosuc
Mountains. A true four-season destination,
the Resort offers eight interconnected peaks
of world class skiing and snowboarding, two
Grand Resort Hotels and golf at the acclaimed
Sunday River Golf Club. Sunday River is a
member of the Boyne Resorts family of resorts
and attractions.
