Bob Gasperetti

Most of my furniture is inspired by Shaker, Mission, and Arts & Crafts styles. I believe in simple, functional furniture meticulously crafted with quality materials. I take great pride in the selection of the wood and the time-consuming placement and matching of grain and color. I work in a variety of hardwoods, from apple wood to zebra wood, so long as it is harvested by sustainable methods. Cherry, walnut, birch, maple, and figured maples are the woods I most often work in.
Thos. Moser Freeport Showroom
Freeport, ME
Founded in 1997, the inspiration for Salem Board & Beam came from the passion that founder, Ken Salem developed by working with his family to restore an old farmhouse in West Brookfield, Massachusetts and transforming it into a restaurant, the Salem Cross Inn, which dates back to 1705.
Many of our potential customers ask us why they should purchase a piece of furniture from Salem Board & Beam. The answer is simple, long-term value.
80% of the lumber used in the creation of both our commercial and residential pieces is from reclaimed and salvaged wood sources.
Because we use reclaimed and salvaged woods, we research the history of the materials used. We create a piece of furniture that is beautiful, has deeper meaning to the owner, and is a unique one-of-a-kind piece of furniture.
Contact us to purchase a copy of the book, learn more about our furniture, design practices, or to discuss commissioning us to create a special piece just for you.
