The Canoe Club
Hanover, NH
The Canoe Club was launched in November of 2003 in the center of “downtown Hanover” with the goal of providing a stylish, yet informal, gathering spot for the Upper Valley. From the beginning, our intention was to present fresh local and regional food and beverage within a broad price range, complemented by distinctive, yet unobtrusive entertainment. Guests often mention the “good energy” they feel upon entering the Canoe Club - the welcoming staff, the smell of tasty food, and the vibrant scene.
The Canoe Club is festooned with authentic thematic ephemera, specifically items that harken back to Dartmouth history, the considerable local summer camp heritage, and the rustic, canoe-related traditions of the Northeast. We are particularly proud of our 1918 Old Town sailing canoe, our Chestnut canoe from the 1930's laden with single malt Scotches, the old sign from the summit of Mt. Moosilauke, and various 19th century Dartmouth artifacts. Several panels from the original Lloyd’s of London are also incorporated into the interior of the Canoe Club.
We hope the Canoe Club’s leather couches, waterwall and other custom features suggest an inviting, comfortable setting for straightforward food with a flair.
